If you know sign language and see him at some point, stop by and say hello, or give him his birthday wishes then!

We’re so happy that we got to welcome our 1st smiling faces of the year 😊 Next week’s posts will be dedicated to our “Know Before You Go” information, where first-year students can get more info on dining, and those returning can get reminders. A great thing about Cowan is the ability to create vibrant and diverse meals (like this orange sesame chicken dish) by combining foods across different stations. If you ever need inspiration, check out our Caf Hacks highlight! If you have your own Caf Hack you’d like to share with others, just message us here with your idea and you may see it on our page one day!

Friday flashback to our July 4th celebration! Good food, great company and slushies to break the heat.. Well, at least for a minute or 2 🥵☀️

Happy birthday to our July babies here at Centre College Dining! 🎂

Sometimes, a snack is just necessary (GSP students agree)! So here are some tips when it comes time for you to stock up: 🍪Buying snacks in bulk instead of individually wrapped = saving money. DIY trail mix is cheaper and you can customize it in so many ways! 🍪Protein is especially important for snacking, HOWEVER, some protein-focused snacks contain more than 1/3 of the daily recommended sugar content. Also, added sugars contain no nutritional content, so read the label. 🍪Don’t punish yourself for having a sweet tooth, you can indulge sometimes! Just don’t make it a daily habit. An easy way to cut those cravings is to eliminate sugary drinks. Less sugar over time makes those sugary drinks and snacks EXTRA sugary, which will make you actually want them less.

🎇Happy *early* July 4th🎇 We’re excited to celebrate another year with GSP and slushies!

Going to Cowan means ENDLESS opportunities to create new ways to enjoy your meals. See our “Caf Hacks” highlight for more inspo!

⚽️ It’s always a pleasure having the girls’ soccer camp dining with us! ALSO, we got word that some of these coaches will be incoming first-years this fall at Centre, and we LOVE that for them!

Happy Monday from our summer team members ☀️🌈🌳 Leave hearts below to show them your appreciation!

💚❤️💛🖤 Happy Juneteenth! We are no strangers to working alongside student clubs that create belonging for black students and have strong cultural and historical ties to black communities. As a dining program, we recognize the influence these communities have had on food; As humans, we recognize the struggle, sacrifice and sheer perseverance that these communities had to face, and still face, by simply existing in their own skin. With that, we want you to know that we see you, and you will always be welcome, safe and respected here! We look forward to more collaborations and other opportunities that help uplift the voices of POC on our campus.

The 1st day of class for GSP students paired PERFECTLY with their 1st popup! There’s nothing better than cold, fresh lemonade on a warm summer day 🍋

Summer = pizza MADNESS 🤯 With all the summer camps and kids coming through, that means pizza, period.. Can you blame them though? Dough that’s made fresh daily and cooked in a brick oven is something most people don’t get to see often, so we understand (Especially Anna here, she’s been here for over 25 years and has seen it all)!

On behalf of the dining team, Happy Pride Month! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 We are so thankful to be serving the @centrecollege community, who not only welcomes diversity, but celebrates it. One of the core values of the Parkhurst Dining brand is diversity, because good food doesn’t come in 1 shape, size, or color, and neither do good people. Diversity is what makes our world a better and more colorful place, and we proudly support people who are LGBTQ+ in our spaces!

Workbro summer 🌟

Check out this Bravo dish that’s just OOZING summer vibes🐝🪻🌳If you didn’t already know, every dish served at Bravo is specially prepared and created by the chefs and cooks who serve it! Iced coffee Fridays may be on summer break, but we can assure you, they’ll be back in the fall! Maybe with some new flavors or more local brands? 👀 Let us know what you want to see next year ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Here’s an early “CONGRATS GRADS, YOU MADE IT” along with special messages from our chefs! 💫 We are all so proud of you, but what matters the most is being proud of yourself. When you walk this Sunday, know that you matter, and doing great things starts with believing you can do them!

We love watching our Centre volunteers *SERVE* (or whatever you want to call this) at Late-Night Breakfast 🙌

Let’s give our catering team a round of applause for all of their work, and wish them luck as we enter Senior Week and approach graduation day! 👏👏👏 They help to make the end of every school year extra special (and yummy) for Centre graduates, staff and families!

🚮 POV you’re literal trash that students are fighting over 😭 Student volunteers collected a total of 260 lbs of trash last week for Centre’s 1st ever Spogomi competition, with the winning team collecting 160 of it. We look forward to partnering with @centre.occe again next year to make this community cleanup even bigger with more of an impact! ♻️

The Meet the Team series continues with our Einstein’s supervisor, Arlene!

“Be the reason someone smiles. Be the reason someone feels loved and believes in the goodness in people.” ― Roy T. Bennett The end of the year is quickly approaching, and although it’s bittersweet, we will still be serving with a smile! 😊

Happy Friday! Here’s a snapshot of lunchtime in Cowan from this week. Grilled cheeses, green monster pizza and taco bowls for the win!

This heat has us thinking about cooler days 🥵 Like when we had our Halloween Potion Party! What do you think we should have at this year’s Halloween event? A fortune teller? A spooky sip and paint?! 👻 You have 140 days to let us know!

Shoutout to all of the student clubs and Centre staff that has partnered with us this year! 🎉 We’ve worked alongside 4 student clubs and a dozen departments to bring exciting events to campus, and look forward to more collaborations!

Our meet the team series continues with Kiki our afternoon cashier! She’s been with Centre Dining for over 20yrs btw 😊

Cheers to Earth Month! 🌎 In dining, we do our best to consider sustainability by: 🌱Reducing waste- the kitchen composts scraps as well as repurposes as much as they can safely! When we save brown bananas for dessert and make stocks in house, it reduces our carbon footprint. 🌱Adjusting the dining program according to student needs- your feedback through the QR codes in Cowan and our fall and spring surveys reduce waste as well! Tailoring our menu around your needs and requests = less that ends up in the trash. 🌱Offering Earth month programming- Weigh the Waste, our Community Cleanup with @centre.occe and signage on ways to live more sustainably ARE NOT attempts to call anyone out! It’s simply a reminder that we all create waste, and ways we can reduce that and take immediate action to be part of the solution. Remember, small acts of kindness and compassion matter!

It’s 1:29 on a Friday in April, and students start bringing in their cups for free coffee.. 😭 That’s right, FREE hot and cold brew coffee at Einstein, every Friday between 1:30 and 3:30pm in April when you bring your own cup! ♻️Save a cup, get a coffee♻️

Throwback to that time (aka 2 days ago) it took less than 1 day for people to find all of the Easter eggs at Einstein.. 🫠 Anyway, we hid 4 more for you to find and there’s still a few hiding at Hall of Fame! Tomorrow is the last day to turn them in for some ⭐️goooodiessss⭐️
